Arriving in the United States from Saigon, Vietnam, in late 2012, Tuan faced the challenges of adjusting to a new culture and navigating life as a first-generation immigrant. Despite the financial hardships his family endures, Tuan has consistently risen above these obstacles, earning recognition as a top student and a leader among his peers.
Currently a freshman in high school with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Tuan’s dedication to academics is matched only by his involvement in extracurricular activities. He is a proud member of the Price Scholars, USD Upward Bound program, Key Club, Asian & Pacific Islander Club, and his school’s badminton team. These commitments reflect not only his passion for learning but also his drive to make the most of every opportunity available to him.
Tuan’s achievements are nothing short of remarkable. In middle school, he was invited to an exclusive program for the top 50 students, earned the highest academic rankings, and was elected as the council president. Now in high school, Tuan aspires to attend a prestigious university like UCLA or Stanford, with dreams of continuing to medical school to become a neurosurgeon. Beyond that, his vision includes starting a business to open a pharmacy or hospital, helping others in need and contributing to his community in meaningful ways.
Tuan is not just an achiever, he’s a helper. Friends and mentors describe him as someone with natural talent, boundless determination, and a generous spirit. Despite his focus on his own goals, he is always willing to lend a hand to others, offering understanding and reliability to those around him.
